What is a Customs Broker?

A Customs Broker is licensed, regulated, and empowered by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to help importers and exporters meet the legal requirements governing international trade.

Customs Brokers verify and submit electronic information, provide documentation, and deliver payments to CBP on your behalf. They must have knowledge and experience in entry procedures, admissibility requirements, classification, valuation, origin determinations, other government agencies, and rates of duty/taxes/fees.

ITS Has Some of the Best Customs Brokers in the Industry.

Our Customs Brokers are highly skilled professionals with many years of experience in Entry requirements and international regulations. We have long-standing working relationships with CBP and other government agencies at both the local and national levels. In addition to overseeing your interactions with US Customs, we also provide services to verify that your products and trade partners comply with U.S. regulations.

Compliance

Customs’ increasing focus on compliance is best shown by the number of new programs introduced in recent years. FAST, ACE, C-TPAT, ESAR, e-Manifest, and other programs are designed to monitor and target your compliance through more intensive methods. Your transactions and practices will come under greater scrutiny than ever before. However, that shouldn’t scare you from continuing to develop your international opportunities.
